Fat
Human body requires fat, as all the cells in your
body have some fat in them. In addition, fats
help in hormone production, joint lubrication
and during infancy and childhood, fat is
necessary for brain development. Since fat
is the most concentrated form of energy, so
through out your life it is essential to provide
you with energy and support growth.
But your body requires a small amount of fat
from daily intake. Excessive fat intake is a
major cause factor in obesity, high blood
pressure, heart diseases, colon cancer, and a number of other disorders.
So in order to understand fat intake and
related health issues, it is necessary to
understand different fat types and their requirement.
There are three types of fats:
Saturated, polyunsaturated, and monounsaturated.
Saturated Fats
Saturated fats maintain a solid state at room
temperature and are associated with heart
